Here’s some of what’s been going on at the Stand Up For Pits Foundation since the PIBBLE March (May 3rd, 2014h and in addition to the live events around the country.

SALLY– a San Bernadino death row bait dog we pulled in terrible shape, coughing blood, infected, underweight and in her foster’s (Rock Reuben) words “wasn’t sure she would make it.” Well…him and his family did an amazing job and sweet Sally did make it and is now living a happy healthy life in Seattle Wa. with Rebecca Corry’s sister and 3 beautiful kids.

SUFP Foundation sponsored RHINO the Pibble’s recovery through WAGS while she was fostered and loved for 8 weeks by her amazing foster dad, Josh Wilkins and his Pibble Buttercup. Rhino girl is now fully recovered and in a loving forever home with a rescue boxer mix brother!

MAXIMUS-we pulled this 6 month old German Shepherd from the West LA shelter after being removed from a homeless convicted dog thief/abuser by some amazing citizens who took action. We placed him in a beautiful forever home in Salt Lake City Utah where he is learning to swim on his lake with his human brother and sister!

MONA-a two year old female Pibble surrendered by her owner. SUFP Foundation learned of her terminal and very serious condition and stepped up to help. We provided what was to be 5 treatments of Palliative Radiation in an effort to improve what days, weeks (or if all went perfectly) or couple months she had left. Sadly, after 3 treatments, Mona’s health declined rapidly and Mona was laid to rest surrounded by an enormous amount of kindness and love in a home environment.

HADEN-a 6 month old puppy who was let out of his foster’s yard and violently beaten by a transient in Arizona. SUFP Foundation was made aware of this and donated directly to the hospital where Haden was treated. Much ignorance and drama ensued surrounding this case and much is still pending from what we know, including the trial against the transient and rescue and the foster. We only know what has been made public and we have never been given a final update on Haden’s health. Last we saw via social media, Haden looked fully functioning and recovered yet we have never been given an update on his final whereabouts. If any of you hear anything, please let us know. Absolutely sad and a perfect example of so called members of the animal community making the welfare of an animal second to human agenda.

SADIE-a San Bernadino death row Pibble with a winning smile who was underweight, covered in fleas but ready to party. We pulled this hippo and she is now livin a happy love filled life in Los Angeles with her senior brother (rescue who endured years of abuse) named Bennie and her sister (cat) Lou.

We believe ALL life matters. No matter what age or obstacles there are.  A life is a gift and it is to be respected to the end.

We want to thank each and every one of you who have purchased a t-shirt, made donations, showed support for the Foundation in the ways you can and for selling out all the live events around the country. There is no such thing as a small contribution and every contribution goes towards our efforts to save lives through front line rescues, donating to groups and individuals with dogs with medical/rehabilitation needs, educational programs and our many many advocacy efforts.

Recently, one advocacy effort proved to be a win for our Pibbles, because we stood together. The Foundation was made aware of an Irish based cookie company called Broderick’s by one of our supporter’s (Molly Nicoletta) who was given one of their packaged cookies on a flight and was very upset by what she saw. Broderick’s cookie company has been using negative Pit Bull propaganda for years on all of their product’s wrappers.  So, a call to action was made and we joined together as one loud voice and educated them.  Broderick’s has agreed to change all the wrappers and even donate to an Ireland based Pit Bull group. We will post the new wrappers when they are out and encourage you all to keep an eye on the Broderick’s cookie company and let us know when you see the new wrappers. They said they needed 10 weeks. It’s been just over 2 weeks.

There is an overwhelming amount of work to be done but much has been accomplished in a very short time and we look forward to being and creating the change we want to see and doing it with all of you. We are so inspired by all the work many of you are doing after attending the PIBBLE March on Washington. You guys are amazing Pibble loving people and dedicated to being their voice and that is exactly what it takes. We will continue to fight abuse and discrimination with you because simply put, there’s no place for it. Doing nothing is not an option.
