Just over a week ago, our dear friend Sam who runs Instagram’s “Pitbullsofinstagram” account posted about a litter of 7 Pit Bull puppies that were sold on Craigslist for $60 and were now in the care of a rescue named Priceless Pet Rescue who stepped up and took them all in. Shortly after getting them it was determined they all had Parvo and one had died. They were in need of financial help so the SUFP Foundation donated as all puppies were at the vet receiving 24 hour care and we wanted to provide them the best possible chance at life and see these precious babies all go to loving homes. It is with a very heavy heart that we report all of puppies have passed away. Below is the letter we just received from the rescue.

“Hi,

First, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and donation.

We lost all seven of the parvo puppies. I can honestly say that in seven years of doing this, we have NEVER lost an entire litter to parvo. This is the worst case of parvo I have ever seen.

Unfortunately, as you know, even when the dogs die, there are still medical bills that need to be paid. All six of the dogs received plasma transfusions, as we did everything we could to try and keep them alive. They were also all on around the clock care (24 hour care) the entire time. We had to euthanize three of the six, at the very end as we knew we were loosing them and we did not want them to suffer, the other four died on their own randomly.

Personally, this was one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through as I was the one who was treating them at our home (with fluids, herbal remedies, liquid diet, etc.) before we found out that it was parvo and immediately rushed them to the vet once we started noticing the vomiting, diarrhea, etc. The vet feels that since all of the dogs were not in good medical health to begin with, that they didn’t really stand a chance against the parvo attack. Also, they were around 10 weeks old and had never had any type of vaccinations, therefore, making it much worse.

Once again I thank you. We did everything in our power to save them.”
