Where’s our NEW YORKERS AT!!!! Someone please go get this baby and share share share!! This hippo need help! Thank you!

I’m reaching out to you because I don’t know where else to turn. I’m a volunteer at the AHS in Newark, New Jersey. Unfortunately, we are a kill shelter and we are bursting and at the seams with 200+ Pitbull type dogs, at any given time. While my heart shatters into pieces weekly at the torture, neglect and abuse that I see, there is one dog that is literally crushing my heart and ripping apart my soul. The attached photos are of Sabrina, a recent owner surrender (reason was “I just don’t want her anymore”. She is five years young and I have NEVER seen a body more used and abused than hers. I can’t even guess how many litters of puppies this poor girl has given birth to in her lifetime. At first sight it’s obvious to see from her stretched stomach, hanging nipples and (pardon my mouth) mangled vag that she was used for breeding, but that’s not even the worst part. Her hips are the worst I have ever seen, causing her not only to lose balance at times, but she isn’t even able to squat to relives herself. Instead this poor dog has no choice but to urinate all over her own feet every times she goes.

With everything that she has been through Sabrina, is a happy, loving and trusting girl. She loves people, kids and is even dog friendly! She is always a hit at adoption events, but most potential adopters are scared off by her health issues and the fact that this beautiful dog is going to cost a lot of money. I cannot bear see this beautiful, inherently good pup die in a shelter, just because she was mistreated by humans. She deserves a home where she can be loved, spoiled and cared for, for the rest of her existence.

I know that you must receive 100’s of e-mails like this each day and I know (as cliché as it sounds) you can’t save them all, but I’m begging and pleading for your help….or for you to share her story.

She needs and deserves all the help that she can get.

Thank you for hearing me out and for all that you do!!

Best,

Danielle Giordano

PS. From the photo you can also see that she has an issue with her left eye, but come on look at that smile!!!
