Whether or not you are a dog person, the statistics on the abuse of pit bulls is shocking. According to our Why Not Girl! of the Week Rebecca Corry, thousands of pit bulls each year are victims of abuse in the form of mutilation and dog fighting (Unfortunately there are a lot of Michael Vicks out there).
But this woman, who may be known more for her comedy (she’s been featured onKing of Queens and Last Comic Standing) is standing up for these animals in hope to change legislation and people’s attitude toward these dogs. Inspired by her own pit bull Angel, who she adopted from a foster program, Rebecca Corry comedian has become Rebecca Cory pit bull activist and is organizing the first One Million Pibble March on Washington this Saturday, May 3.
