After learning about Dr. Laura’s Dec 15th malicious and violent statements on her Sirius XM radio show where she advocated the mass murder of Pitbulls, we asked all of you to reach out to the show’s sponsors and Sirius to voice your opinions and ask that Dr. Laura be removed from her public platform where she freely and without consequence is allowed to advocate the mass murder of innocent lives. We also suggested you let Sirius and her sponsors know that if they kept her on the air that they would no longer have our support.
You all did that and you did it very well! We aren’t asking Dr. Laura to like Pitbulls, adopt a Pitbull or even like dogs at all. We are simply not tolerating someone with such a wide reach recklessly telling people Pitbulls should all be killed. Since her Dec 19th Facebook “apology” we have learned not a single consequence has been had expect for the possibility that one sponsor may have pulled out.
Dr. Laura stated “I apologize for causing any pit bull owner/fancier any distress.” That is not enough. Not even close. Starting today we are asking everyone to once again email and call demanding Dr. Laura dedicate an entire program to Pitbulls and have advocates and owners on to properly educate the many many people she reached with uneducated hate speech.Rebecca Corry will personally be calling and emailing Sirius and ask that this happen. We are not willing to let this go. It is okay to not like something but it is NOT OKAY to publicly and recklessly advocate it’s mass murder and face zero consequences.

As a Foundation who marched on Washington and exercised our freedom of speech, we understand it very well and are proud to be Americans and respect and honor all who have sacrificed in order for us to have that right. However, to be VERY clear….freedom of speech DOES NOT equal the freedom to advocate mass murder.
