If it is via a social media platform, do not engage as they will remove the page thus removing any evidence needed to investigate. An investigation is needed in order for an arrest to happen and an arrest is needed in order to lead to a conviction. You can also report to the “Anti-Dog Fighting Campaign” Facebook Page. Understand these things take time and you may not get immediate results. Just remain diligent.

While dog fighting is not only an animal issue, it is very much a social issue. Where there is dog fighting, there is always other crime. Illegal weapons, drugs and violence towards humans (to name a few) which makes our communities unsafe and puts humans and animals in danger.

Dog fighting is everywhere. In all communities being done by all ethnicities in all tax brackets by men and women. People force dogs to fight in trunks of cars, in basements, hiking trails, city streets, backwoods, behind grocery stores, Uhauls, living rooms and man made pits. Any and everywhere they can and it is real. It is a massive epidemic in our country and one that needs to become a priority in our society if we are to make communities safe.

Two weeks ago a woman school administrator in the 4th largest school district in California was arrested and 19 dogs were seized from a dog fighting operation she was running out of her home. She was also charged with child abuse. 200 dogs seized in a Baltimore operation one month ago. 69 dogs seized in a Florida operation the same month. This list, sadly, goes on and on.

Please always remain safe but please be as proactive as you can in ending this barbaric act. Some of the biggest busts made have come from people stepping up and reporting tips. The less dog fighting there is, the safer humans and pets are. ‪#‎TRUTH‬ ‪#‎fact‬ ‪#‎endabuse‬ ‪#‎standupforpits‬ ‪#‎betheirvoice‬
