This baby hippo was hit by a car in a part of Los Angeles called Watts. He was a stray we were told was roaming around a school. When he got hit by the car some good samaritans stepped in made a home made splint with tape and took him to the shelter. We then were contacted by Lorie Weise who runs an LA based rescue called Downtown Dog Rescue asking for help DDR was low on funds and had told the people to take the puppy to the hospital they use. She said they needed $500 by Wednesday in order to get the surgery done to reset this baby’s leg. Last night we learned they still needed $1000 more, so we are happy to say, the SUFP Foundation is now covering all of it. We are able to send $1500, help with front line rescues, provide grants, transports, educate, advocate and save lives because of your support and dedication to our mission. Whether you buy merch, come to our events or donate it enables us to help others in the community. We’ve been told the good samaritans who rescued this little guy will be keeping him. If anything changes we will let you all know. Thank you all for standing up for Pibbles.
PUPPY UPDATE!
Just got word the funds may now not be needed for surgery as of today because the leg may heal in the cast. If so, that’s great and the funds can go to the other great work DDR does. Any updates we get on this little guy we will share with you as we get them!
