A few days ago we posted about a Chicago dogfighting ring bust that made the news. Our friend Kimberly Boshold is now fostering one of the pups rescued and the mama (pictured aka Sporty Spice) now needs someone to foster her too. As a Foundation who runs a dogfighting tip line, we will continue to keep making pleas for people to become fosters especially when it comes to dogs rescued from fighting rings because without willing fosters, these dogs don’t stand a chance. These dogs require care and dedication and without that, may never get the chance at a life they so rightfully deserve. Please consider becoming a qualified rescue or foster for these beautiful souls.

Sporty Spice and 16 others were confiscated from their original ‘owner’ who was busted for running a dog fighting ring and were brought to Chicago animal control. Sporty spice is currently at the shelter, cacc. She is now available for rescues to pull her. Players For Pits wants to save her but in order to do so they need a foster with no other dogs in the home because she is sick and possibly contagious. They are hoping that networking her will help to find her a foster home so Players For Pits can pull her.
She does have some scaring on her muzzle, forelegs and chest. She was used for breeding and is missing all of her front teeth. She is friendly meeting other dogs, but would also do well as a single dog hogging all the attention like she deserves. She’s older gal but playful and hilarious! She played tug, but let us take the toy from her snd she has no food bowl guarding and has some hairloss on her left knee.
This little mama dog breaks crushes my soul and to think of how many more there are out there waiting to be saved. Please share her or better yet, become her foster or consider adopting her if you’re able. Thank you! #enddogfighting #standupforpits
