This isn’t a pibble “type” dog but this is a dog that was in desperate need of SUFP help. I’m so happy to report that one week ago the Stand Up For Pits Foundation provided a $4200 grant to this precious soul named Amala, to have both of her knee’s replaced so she could live pain free for the first time in years. Today we got an update from her mom and Amala is doing great!!! In about 7 weeks she’ll be 100% and ready to party and run around!! We wanted to share this story to remind you all how, yet again, your support saves and changes lives!

LETTER FROM AMALA’S MOM-Stefanie
The top photo is Amala the day I found her near the freeway on one of LA’s hottest days of the year. The bottom left photo is her right after a bath, same day. Exhausted, dehydrated, and extremely weak but beautiful, loving and kind. Immediately I noticed she had a hard time sitting, laying down. She walked gingerly and it quickly got worse over the next month and a half. So, I took her in for x-rays and the doctor said she has completely torn ACLs and has likely been in pain for years. Her x-rays showed her right knee ACL had torn then repaired itself, tore again then repaired itself, and tore again over the years. It was so badly injured that the scar tissue buildup was immense and her knee bone had actually started to become malformed. Her left knee ACL was a tear that was hanging on by a thread and one day while playing with a puppy friend of ours, it snapped completely. To know she has lived with this agonizing pain, breaks my heart. Surgery on both knees would cost an estimated $4000 and I don’t have that kind of money right now. I contacted the Stand Up For Pits Foundation for help and after they reviewed the info and saw the pain Amala was in, they awarded me the funds to pay for all of it, including x-rays! There are no words to express my gratitude and appreciation for their help and the kindness they showed me. With new knees Amala will, for the first time be able to walk, sit, lay down, jump, eat, play, and live a pain-free life. THANK YOU @rebeccacorry and the amazing STAND UP FOR PITS FOUNDATION! AMALA THANKS YOU AND WE LOVE YOU. #standupforpits #rescue#Amalawins
