Society needs to turn against dogfighters and abusers and report them. City officials need to provide enough Animal Control officers and ACTF officers to handle each and every single call. AND law makers need to make MUCH harsher laws and then provide ample resources to ENFORCE them to the fullest consistently.
Humans who abuse, torture and murder animals need to know that their violence is intolerable and that others will make sure they are caught.
Additionally, people who take matters into their own hands to save an animal from abuse, torture and/or death should be rewarded and considered heroes not arrested because the life they were saving wasn’t their “property.”
As long as our society condones (and yes, not providing resources and ignoring our animal abuse/dogfighting national epidemic is CONDONING it) violence against innocent lives, no living being is safe. Factually, the two legged monsters living among us will likely and most often times DO go on to commit crimes against humans.
It is time our leaders on a FEDERAL level WAKE up and handle what is happening daily in our country to our dogs because it is EVERYONE’S problem. Refusing to acknowledge the proven direct correlation between dogfighting/animal abuse and a myriad of several other violent crimes is dangerous. Humans and pets deserve to live in safe and humane communities. There are zero excuses for doing nothing.
