Lucille ate on her own this morning and has still not vomited or had diahreah, which is amazing because she is on one billion medications. She weighed in today at 29.8 pounds!!! Her blood pressure was high though coming in at 210, which is not good but she will be getting her blood transfusion today, most likely in the next couple of hours. They did say she absolutely hates getting her meds and refuses to let them give her pills. They’ve had to start crushing them up and mixing them with liquid and squirting them down her throat, which she is also not a fan of. I’m certain she throws a ton of stink around that place, bless her heart.

All this said, the last two days Lucille has had are two of the best days she’s had in the last two weeks and I find that hopeful. The transfusion will also provide her some comfort and energy, which she needs to continue fighting the Babesia infection. I believe the course of meds on the Babesia is 10 days and some dogs can still test positive even after they finish the course. Needless to say, every single victory should be celebrated but we have a lot more obstacles to overcome.

Please keep sending this little lady your love. She is absolutely feeling it. ❤️‪#‎standupforpits‬ ‪#‎loveforLucille‬ ‪#‎enddogfighting‬ ‪#‎endabuse‬ ‪#‎inherentlygood‬
