Dear Stand Up For Pits Foundation,

My girlfriend, Morgan and I found these two abandoned female Pit Bulls outside of Kernville over the weekend while driving to go hiking in the Sierra Mountains. They were so dehydrated, skinny, hungry and desperate for help they jumped up into the window before the car had stopped. They drank almost two gallons of water upon initial rescue and ate the two apples we had in the car before we were able to get them dry dog food. We have been led to believe they had been dumped in the wilderness which sadly, is very common in that area.

We spoke to the local police in Kernville and no one had reported them lost. We tried to check in with the local vets and shelters but they were not open on the holiday. So, we drove them back to Los Angeles with us! They are amazing in the car by the way, great road trippers. And, they do not try to steal your food or beg while you are eating.

We have posted on the Kern Valley Lost Animals page and contacted the local Kern Valley and Isabella Lake Shelter to no avail of finding the owners. Needless to say, they are looking for their forever home! We are looking to get them adopted or into an immediate foster as our elderly cat does not like them. Although, they adore her! We will give the adopter or foster everything we have for them. These girls are very loving to each other, and great with people! They love laps and giving out kisses.

It would be ideal for them to be placed together. They are playful, not aggressive and crate trained! They are just so cute, too! They have no microchip. The vet we spoke to thinks they probably are not fixed but, cannot be certain without an ultrasound. We do not know the age, but they look like young adults. They need leash training as they do pull on leash. They go to the bathroom outside. They are freshly bathed in these pictures below and look to be in great health, besides being skinny. Thank you for your help!”
