Lucille is HOME

Little Lucille, you showed those with doubt the undeniable inherent goodness of your heart. Although you knew nothing but pain, suffering and abuse at the hands of humans you still loved humanity unconditionally. Your life is further proof that even the horrors of dogfighting cannot diminish the love and light you and all like you are inherently born with. Your spirit and kind heart will live on in the work we do and continue to inspire us to fight harder against the heinous acts of violence inflicted on pit bull “type” dogs daily. I’m ashamed, deeply saddened and sorry that my species continues to abuse, force breed, force fight and kill helpless innocent souls like you. I’m sorry humans refuse to take responsibility for their actions and instead ban, blame, vilify and euthanize your kind by the millions. I’m sorry humans ignorantly label your “type” as the “vicious” ones when factually, humans are far more dangerous than any dog of any kind could ever be.
The violence done to animals every day by humans is intolerable and sickening and needs to end. I’m honored I got the privilege of knowing and loving you Lucille, and I truly hope to see you again. Rest in peace sweet girl, we will never forget you.
