Sally will be dropped off at the hospital this morning. She will undergo double TPLO surgery and have a mammary tumor removed, which will require removing one of her nipples. Sally is very young and all her issues are a direct reflection of abuse, overbreeding and neglect.
The @standupforpitsfoundation is committed to making sure Sally receives the very best care. She is being seen by one of the very few surgeons we stand by and we have decided to keep her in hospital for 3 days following her surgery so she can be monitored round the clock. She will be provided great food, fuzzy blankets, a comfy cone and we’ll be checking in on her and making sure to update you all as things progress.
If all goes well, Sally will be discharged on Saturday to Tony who will be overseeing her care until Tuesday, at which time her progress will be evaluated and next steps determined. We anticipate a bit of a rough and slow recovery BUT we all need to remain focussed on how happy Sally will be once this is done and over with. Sally will be, for the first time ever, 100% healthy and be able to live the rest of her beautiful life pain free.
One day we will post a video of sweet Sally RUNNING on the beach and it will be glorious. Until then….please send this gentle, loving and kind soul all the love you got because this is going to suck.
