Look at our Sally girl everyone! She’s doing incredible! Sally goes on three 10 minute controlled walks per day with @the_pet_handler, gets a few outside breaks in the courtyard to smell the smells and sunbathe and the rest of the time this velvety land seal gets to hang inside with the family, chew her toys and get loved on.
In a little over 4 weeks Sally will go back to see her surgeon at which point we will do another set of X rays on her both knees for the final time. We’re hopeful her recovery will continue to go as good as it’s been going because before we know it, this little piggy will be sprinting along the beach in all her hippo glory.
We thank all of you who have been supporting Sally’s brutal journey and while it’s not over yet, we are so proud of Sally and her incredible spirit. She is a true survivor with one of the gentlest souls around. Another great example of just how inherently good these dogs are.

Ideally we want Sally to be adopted locally so we can check in on her and remain supportive to her but we are not opposed to adopting her out of state IF the home proves to be a perfect one. An adoption application must be filled out, a rescue SUFP knows and trusts will do the home check and all potential adopters would be required to come Los Angeles to meet her first without the guarantee of being approved.
Many amazing people have emailed and expressed how much they love her but they have cats or dogs or other circumstances that wouldn’t serve her so we will keep sharing her and remain patient until the perfect situation happens and it will. Angel was available for adoption for 18 months until we found each other and it was well worth the wait.
