This is an absolute outrage. The treatment and what these dogs are being used for should also be investigated.

Our society labels dogs “dangerous” based solely on their appearance yet every day dogs are being strapped to rape stands for money, tortured, forced to fight to the death, starved, beaten, euthanized, abandoned, shot, set on fire, left outside to freeze to death and the list goes on and on. And pit bull type dogs are the number one target of this evil yet they continue to be banned, abused, vivified and destroyed.

What does condoning further victimizing victims for over 3 decades say about a society? Our new President has two trophy hunting sons. Barack Obama called the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and thanked him for giving Vick a chance to play football. Our society condones heinous acts of violence and discrimination enshrined in law and then acts shocked when violence and discrimination happens. Animal abuse is not just an animal issue, it’s a broken society issue. What is happening to these dogs is a clear and direct reflection of who we are as a society and you, your loves ones and your kids live in it, which makes this your problem too.

If you believe animal abuse is not your problem because you’re “not a dog person,” you’re “too busy,” or that there are “bigger things to worry about” but you then stand on your virtual soapbox spewing all that is wrong with society and how disappointed and scared you are, please know you’re an idiot. And if/when an animal abuser commits a horrible crime against you or someone you love, please don’t act shocked.

Trying to get people to understand that animal abuse of any kind effects the safety of humans and pets in our communities is like trying to open a brand new CD with a flaccid penis. It seems so simple but can sometimes be impossible.

Making communities safer for humans and pets would not be impossible if we all do our part and make it a priority. Abuse and discrimination is wrong. Whether the abused or discriminated has two legs or four, it is wrong and to do nothing about it is to condone it.

I applaud the woman who recorded the video of the sad dog chained to the trailer and then actually reported it. Abusers need to be prosecuted, never allowed to own animals and exposed publicly so people know who the monsters are.
