“Marley can’t seem to catch a break. We hope someone will see this post and turn this sweet dogs luck around.
Marley has been waiting for his family for 13 months now. Marley is in a wonderful train and board program. But despite lots of exercise and stimulation he’s losing hope. What Marley really wants is a family to call his own.
Some of you may recall his story: Marley was brought into the shelter with a severe head trauma. In May 2016, (see photos on the right) he was picked up by a rescue group. Unfortunately, this group did not get him the required (and expensive) surgery he needed which caused a massive infection to spread in his skull and jaw.
After six months in their “care” the rescue surrendered him to us. We rushed him straight to the vet. The doctors informed us that he may not make it through surgery. He needed to have multiple rotten teeth extracted and pieces of rotten bone removed from his skull. Miraculously he pulled through and recovered like a champ. Then — he need a training. He had no manners and didn’t know how to play. We have been working on that with him and he’s doing much better. But he’s a careless player and can be rough with some dogs. This has caused him to strike out in two of the potential homes we had lined up for him.
Marley’s perfect home would be as an only dog with a very active person. He would love to be a running and hiking buddy, and he would love to chase the ball for you. He’s a bit of a spaz at times but very respectful of his handlers. He’s wonderful in the house, crate trained and leash trained and not destructive. He’s very affectionate with his humans and wants to please.
Marley is a boxer pit mix. He is now a year and a half old. He has endured so much neglect and abuse, he deserves a forever home. So please tag anyone you think could be a good match for dog with a very sad story and a lopsided smile to match.”-LoveLeo Rescue
