“Jasper, TN has proposed an Ordinance aimed at “Pit Bull Type” dogs, I have attached a copy. It passed the first hearing with no public notice anyone can seem to find even letting citizens know this was on the agenda. The “Second & Final Hearing” is Monday, June 12 with a Public Hearing 30 minutes before. Jasper is a small town and we are having a hard time getting people to help join us as we fight the proposed Ordinance. I am sending links to some of the stories/interviews done so that you can see the lack of education or knowledge of the City Elected officials. As a resident of the City of Jasper for 36 years, I have had multiple “Pit Bull Type” dogs who are my companions- they have never caused the City of Jasper or other residents a problem.
Any assistance/insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as we now have less than a week until the next meeting/hearing. We have a small number of people who have contacted City Officials to speak at the meeting, written letters to the editor, and are distributing flyers this evening. The Mayor & City Aldermen will be the ones voting on the Ordinance-
