When you know the horrible truth and do nothing to change it, then you, in fact, condone it and you are part of the problem.
Please understand that every single effort matters. Educating, advocating, donating, fostering, marching, rallying, volunteering, adopting, spaying, neutering, teaching children, creating programs, inspiring others, and fighting for helpless voiceless beings whenever and however you can matters. This is a group effort and it needs to remain a diligent one. Millions of animals are dying every year in our country and this reflects directly on us as a society.
Don’t rely on others to lead, instead recognize the efforts of others that speak to you and then emulate whatever that is however you can. Safely and responsibly, think outside the box and anyone who criticizes you or tries to stand in your way, invite them to suck your balls and keep it movin. There are inherently good lives depending on it and there is zero time for bullshit. As you read this, Angel’s, Sally’s, Todd’s and Lucille’s are laying on cold concrete getting a needle in their leg and thrown into garbage bags. That is not and never will be okay and we can change that. Our dogs are gifts to be respected and protected and it’s up to all of us to help, not just foundations, rescues or giant multimillion dollar organizations.
You can create change. It means getting off the couch, making sacrifices and putting in the work. Social media can be an effective tool to save lives. Start responsibly posting dogs. That’s a good start.
Stand Up For Pits events have raised $46,151.00 worth of much needed supplies for shelter animals around the country and have raised $36,532.00 for the nonprofits we invite to participate and the SUPF tour is only half done. This group effort is proof of what I just said and I’m honored to be a part of it. I believe it’s our responsibility and obligation as occupants of the planet to fight hate, discrimination and murder of innocent beings but a sincere thank you is in order for those helping out how they can.
I wish there was no need for rescues and foundations but there is. So lets keep going. ~Rebecca Corry
