The SUFP Foundation sent the $4800 needed in order to save up to 40 of them! It’s an honor to be part of this rescue. If you want to help, go to standupforpits.us and donate now. It’s extremely costly to clean up the mess humans make. Please share. Thank you!

LETTER FROM BARK NATION
Since the launch of a dogfighting operation in April, a total of 53 dogs were seized off of multiple properties in a multi-agency operation in Ingham and Eaton Counties in Michigan. Due to Michigan’s strict laws on dogfighting, the fate of the dogs has been controversial at best. News articles circulated with death sentences for all 53 dogs. 5 survivors were euthanized immediately post-disposition for no other reason than the purpose of their conception. After extensive conversation and brainstorming, Stand Up for Pits Foundation and Bark Nation set out on a mission to save as many lives as possible.
After conversations with Rebecca Corry, Bark Nation President, Kelly McLaughlin, reached out to ICAC Director John Dinon to discuss life-saving options. Dinon was receptive and relieved to take a solutions-oriented approach to providing constructive avenues for life after dogfighting. It was agreed upon that Bark Nation’s certified team would evaluate all dogs and place in rescues/shelters/humane societies outside of the state of Michigan if they were deemed safe. Ingham County has graciously agreed to allow Bark Nation access to spend time with these amazing survivors and work on providing them a pain-free future.
Currently, Bark Nation has placed 15 survivors with transfer partners across the country. 15 survivors that were born into a life of unmatched cruelty – a chain, a pit, a barbaric death. These beautiful souls are learning what life is as a family member and getting love. There are an estimated 20-25 dogs still being held as live evidence and awaiting their chance at freedom and love.

Stand Up for Pits Foundation has granted Bark Nation $4,800 to ensure the lives of as many survivors of dogfighting as possible are saved. Grant includes Babesia testing for all dogs being placed, transport, enrichment supplies and more. #standupforpits
