Many of you may remember the incident Rebecca Corrh had this summer with my local law enforcement when she came upon two dogs left in a hot car. The police officers who arrived (7 of them) did not know the law in California states is for them or citizens so smash the glass to get the dogs out of a hot car and some of them were afraid of the dogs.
While Rebecca was furious and made that known,  she decided to use that anger in a positive way by finding a solution and offering help instead of fueling further rage. So she contacted the Sargent of our police department and asked what the SUFP Foundation could do to help ensure that this situation would not happen again and that officers would be educated. After speaking with a couple of sergeants, Rebecca created a “Dog In Hot Car Kit” and suggested it to them as a way to help their Police officers. So she put together 3, which will be put into the sergeant’s vehicles.

Each kit includes; WATER BOWLS, TREATS, GLOVES, LEASHES, TREATS, CARRYING BAG, CA LAW LITERATURE and CATCH POLES.

Today, the nerds and Rebecca will be dropping the kits off. We want to thank @dont_bully_my_pitbullbuffy for donating the gloves, water bowls and leashes. She heard the story and took action to help and that kind of effort is not only greatly appreciated but is exactly what’s needed. Big thanks to our local law enforcement for accepting the help, our friends at the DA’s office and Debbie Knaan for her tireless effort to end the horrible and needless death’s of dogs left in hot cars.
