It’s official!!! POLAR BEAR HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

This sweet soul met his forever humans (@kmaeh04 on IG) at Stand Up For Pits in New York City last week and now has a loving home to call his own for the rest of his life! He even has other dogs and a cat as new siblings. CONGRATULATIONS POLAR BEAR and thank you Shelter Chic for being so committed to this sweet boy who has overcome so much. This is everything and one of the many reasons these events are so important. The Stand UpFor Pits Foundation, Inc is honored to have been a part of his journey.

I never thought I would be making this post for our special Polar Bear. When @shelterchic first pulled PB, we thought he would be a fospice case. He could hardly walk, knuckling over until his toes, nails, knuckles, and even ankles were bleeding. Judging by his lethargy, malnutrition, rashy skin, sores, hypothyroidism, and bathroom behavior, we think PB spent most of his past life on concrete, not indoors in a home. @ellielee.tv was PB’s first foster momma before he came to us on March 11th. He needed to be potty trained, leash trained, and needed to be lifted to walk more than a few steps. We went to AMC for medical follow up several times, and once we found the right dose of medication for his hypothyroidism, PB became a changed dog, with more energy, vibrancy, and his walking greatly improved! Despite his issues, from thyroid to wobbler’s syndrome, to the fact we can’t yet definitively say that he doesn’t have a tumor, PB graciously attended Stand Up For Pits event last Sunday…. and met his SOMEBODY SPECIAL! Yup, Polar Bear is ADOPTED!  Somehow, the dog we thought would be fospice care is now looking forward to a long rest of his life in his forever home with Kris, Kobe, Maddox, and Melo! The dog who couldn’t walk is now running back in forth in his new yard. So many emotions and so much joy for this sweet Bear and his journey to the life he deserves. Us at the cannot thank Shelter Chic enough for trusting us with PB’s care these past 3 months, or Kris enough for being just as crazy obsessed with him as we are.
