It’s amazing to see this precious hippo thriving knowing where she came from and what she went through to get here. Thanks to FDR for taking her on and providing her with love and excellent care and for the video update. We love sharing seeing the progress of the hippos the SUFP Foundation helps and it’s important to share with our supporters. Big Mama Update! We have so much Mama news and all of it is good! First, we got Mama’s results back on her tumors and they were all a low grade 2. AND, amazingly, the surgeon was able to get a clean margin around all of them. This is better news than we could have hoped for and the surgeon did an amazing job. We, also, followed up with the oncologist this week who, after reviewing the results, let us know that she would not recommend chemotherapy and that we just need to keep an eye on those spots and look for changes, etc.

We still have a couple of things we want to get checked out on her (her teeth are pretty bad) but, we couldn’t be happier for her. She is, of course, being loved and pampered every day in the manner to which she has become accustomed. She is the queen of the house, there is no doubt about it.
