November 24th my foundation went to the Lancaster Animal Care Center to feed all the animals for our Thanksgiving For Angels program. Dogs were photographed so we could network them. I saw Glenda being carried out. I asked if she could walk and they said no. Her breasts were filled with milk, she was underweight and she couldn’t lift her head above her shoulders. Clearly in pain she worsened over the next few hours so I had her rushed to the ER. She would have never made it out of the shelter alive. After two weeks of hospitalization and treatment Todd and I took her in as a foster. Todd too was declining. Not eating, walking or even opening his eyes after Sally died. Watching Todd give up on life was beyond excruciating. Over the past month Glenda and Todd have healed each other. Both still have a ways to go but day by day they are getting better which is a testament to who they and all these dogs truly are. Glenda has a lot of fears to overcome which will require a lot of work and attention. She many also need extensive medical care due to being overbred and her ongoing struggle to breathe properly. Human garbage who breed these dogs cause they think it’s cute are fucking monsters. It’s not cute, it’s cruel. Glenda is exactly where she needs to be to have the best chance at life. She is not leaving and Todd and I are committed to helping her until death do us part.
