Our vet said his ears are extremely painful, he has severe welts and bites all over his body and yet could not be sweeter. He is approximately 1 or 1/2 years old. They have given him a dewormer and are starting diagnostics – fecal, blood etc and will get him in a bath in hopes of giving his skin some relief. We will keep you all updated as things progress and SUFP is funding all of his medical care.
There are apparently weeks old puppies under that tarp Walter was found in. The man responsible for this says he wants to give the male dog who is father to puppies up. He does not want to give up the female or babies of course and stated four of the babies babies have been sold so he can’t part with them.
LA Animal Services cries about budget cuts, lack of staff and overcrowded shelters but allows this at the direct orders of Mayor Karen Bass to continue to happen day in and day out year after year. What you are looking at in real time contributes to suffering, further cripples the shelter system, drains nonprofits of resources and is 100% PREVENTABLE.
It is more important for our city and it’s leaders to practice “cultural sensitivity” than protect the lives of sentient helpless beings. This is yet another glaring example of intentional and blatant inaction by those who’s JOB it is to stop this.
