Izzy’s owner tried killing her. They abandoned her at a vets office in Lancaster CA, told the vet to kill her and left. The vet called the Lamcaster Animal Care Center who went and picked her up. Izzy got sick while in the shelter – which happens far too often. She was never going to make it out if we didn’t save her. Thankfully we were able to get a transporter to pull her and get her to our hospital. We provided precious Izzy with all the medical care and testing she needed. We wondered if she had cancer or something and that was why her “onwers” wanted to kill her. She didn’t and doesn’t – which makes those humans sociopaths – and they should never be allowed an animal again. Izzy is perfectly healthy, happy and one of the most loving spirits you’ll ever meet. A true velvet house hippo who adores all of humanity. Once again our dear friends at Orange County Pit Bull Rescue stepped in and not only provided Izzy with and exceptional foster family but they are handling Izzy’s adoption. This couch walrus is about 7 or 8 years old, must be the only hippo in the home, spayed, up to date on shots and perfect in every way. Izzy is located in Orange County CA and needs a home to call her own. Please keep sharing this earth angel and reach out to Orange County Pit Bull Rescue if you would like to share your life with our precious Izzy girl. If you are looking for a rescue to foster through, follow and support – OCPBR is a great one. They do rescue right and sadly we can’t say that about many orgs. Thank you Christine for all you and your rescue do for beloved hippos and for helping us with Izzy girl.
