After years of being repeatedly failed by humans, nothing makes us happier to announce Bambi is finally home. Today this velvet magical unicorn has officially been adopted by her amazing foster mom Susan Metzger!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bambers Kalison Metzger – as they call her – has two precious human siblings and an incredible home to call her own. She will never be failed again and will be loved, adored and protected forever.
We want to thank all of you who donated towards her care, Bob & Lisa for transporting and doing enrichment visits for us. Mike for visiting Bambi & Flower every day in the hospital as well as her new mom and sisters for visiting her in hospital and in daycare when she needed it most. Thank you to Gary Cannon for helping these angels and Ashley for transporting them as well. Thank you Noemi for keeping us up to date on Flower and Bambi and helping us get them out of the Lancaster Animal Care Center TOGETHER – which they also deserved. And thank you Thomas for assessing these angels!🖤🤎
Every life the @standupforpitsfoundation saves and helps is a special one. Every story is unique and incredible but the story of Bambi & Flower miracle. Two unrelated dogs dumped then put in a kennel together at the @lancasteranimalslaco back in 2025 to then be adopted together and dumped back at the shelter in terrible condition 2026. Bambi & Flower had no chance but overcame all the odds in large part because they had each other. Without each other – they would not have survived.
It is unthinkable horrific times for dogs in Los Angeles – city and county. They are not getting the care they need in hell hole shelters and so many are not getting out alive. Please take a moment to celebrate these angels getting their happily ever after. If humans had a sliver of their strength and capacity to love – the world would be a better place. We will love Bambers and Flower always and we will continue to share their updates with all of you who also love them.
