The court sadly postponed the first substantive hearing on our case to May 1st. The City is trying to have our case dismissed at that time through a demurrer and motion to strike, but through our attorneys, we will fight to keep our case in front of the court. A trial setting conference will also happen on that date.
The Stand Up For Pits Foundation has been serving Los Angeles for 16 years and is being forced to sue people and agencies who’s JOB it is to protect the animals because they refuse. They have refused help and resources for years from the Stand Up For Pits Foundation. They have ignored repeated offers to work together and solutions from the Stand Up For Pits Foundation which would help end suffering and killing of dogs. And now they are attempting to dismiss a case which is fighting for the lives of voiceless victims while LA city council refused to listen to Rebecca Corry (for 60 seconds) explain how dogs are dying of heat stroke on Skid Row.
Imagine knowing there is horrific, cruelty, suffering and killing happening every day – it is fixable – and not caring.
It is unimaginable.
We are prepared to fight and will for as long as it takes.
Support for this effort will be ongoing. Donations are accepted for legal fees. Thank you.
