Things are NOT better. They are WORSE. Perpetuating a “No Kill” narrative makes people think it is okay to dump their dogs at these supposed “No Kill” Shelters not knowing what really happens to them. They are shocked when we tell them to try and keep their pet because it will be killed at a shelter. They just don’t understand. As a charity without 155 million dollars or a PR team or a budget for billboards, magazines and the list goes on – for advertising, we are going to continue pushing back on this shit however we can. LOOK ON OUR PAGE. Dogs are all over our page we are desperately trying to help get seen in “No Kill” shelters who were or will be KILLED.
“No Kill” is brilliant marketing but when dead dogs are in shelter freezers and being wharehoused this is simply not okay. Best Friends Animal Society and Julie Castle are more than welcome to reach out and do a sit down face to face on camera to discuss with Rebecca Corry how Los Angeles city is called “No Kill” when killing happens every day and orgs like SUFP are scrambling to save these dogs. SUFP has ONE employee – ME – working 365 days a year with little resources and barely livable salary. I’m fucking DONE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
