Many of you may remember our precious Ronda girl. She was out of time at the @lancasteranimalslaco and at the last moment we were able to save her. We had her taken directly from the shelter to our hospital where we learned she was in liver failure due to blunt force trauma. Ronda also appeared to have a cigar burn on the top of her head and a lot of fear. Clearly, she had endured abuse and yet she remained sweet to everyone and all the dogs she met. After providing her all the medical care she needed, and enrichment journeys and amazing foster stepped up for Ronda when she needed it most. Heather spent many months showing Ronda what love is and building her confidence and last year adopted her. This week precious Ronda is making her way across the country with her amazing mom where they will begin a new chapter in Ohio and soon, they will be spending time in Spain together too! We could not be happier for this precious soul and her mom. This is beyond a happily ever after and so deserved. Thank you, Heather, for giving Ronda the life she always deserved and staying committed to helping her through fears she may have for the rest of her life. Thank you to your beautiful Tawney (RIP) for also loving Ronda. You were meant to be together, and we love you both so much. 🩶
Thank you to all the incredible people who helped us help Ronda along the way. The many temp fosters, transporters, donors, our hospital staff, shelter volunteers, and everyone who supports the lifesaving work the Stand Up For Pits Foundation does. Ronda is alive today and every one of you had a part in that miracle.
