It appears Karen Bass, LAPD, LA CITY, Annette Ramirez, LAAS and LA City Council members think dogs being sexually assaulted, burnt, rotting, force bred, beaten, sold, sick, suffering, exploited, abandoned, confined, tethered, hidden, fought, slaughtered on city streets and killed in “No Kill” shelters is acceptable.
We responded to their attempts to throw our lawsuit out and they have done so once again. They filed another demurrer to our complaint/writ, along with a motion to strike to portions of our amended complaint/writ, rather than engaging with the substantive issues and evidence in this case or taking action to change the heinous conditions on Skid Row. We are preparing our oppositions and will be ready to file again in early August. The evidence is overwhelming, the horrors are ongoing and they would choose to ignore it and deplete a charity of funds and resources that end it. In the meantime, we are also preparing discovery requests. We will not quit while we know animals are clearly suffering on the streets and in what they call “No Kill” LA shelters!
We need your help to keep this fight going. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the effort to end the suffering and mass killing of innocent animals in Los Angeles.
PAY ATTENTION – the new 14 million dollars coming to LA city you’ve seen all over the press (divided between two orgs and distributed over three years) to create 23 new jobs WILL NOT help or solve this crisis. Karen Bass and City Council love the optics this move brings for them and the city and a 14-million-dollar contribution will come back tenfold to those orgs while the horrors continue. Educate yourselves on all the “programs” “initiatives’ “partnerships” LA leaders have used to gaslight and avoid accountability and change.
Enforcing laws, education, prevention, and solutions are the only way this nightmare will end. PERIOD. While the marketing ploys continue and the rich get richer off the suffering of animals — the Stand Up For Pits Foundation will risk it all to fight for their lives. The dogs deserve JUSTICE.
