In 2015 the Stand Up For Pits Foundatipn worked with local law enforcement, the LA DA at the time, and the HSUS bloodsport division. SUFP created and launched a dogfighting tipline and we still provide live operators (Spanish and English speaking) for the residents of Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Imagine one of the largest cities in the world not providing this resource. The apathy to make communities safer for humans and pets has been going on for years in LA. The Stand Up For Pits Foundation funded all the signage and still funds the tipline. A few dip-shit local “rescuers” laughed at the effort stating, “dogfighting doesn’t happen in Los Angeles.” These idiots are what is wrong with rescue. Not only does dogfighting happening all over Los Angeles but it is a national epidemic. Over the years we have gotten hundreds of reports from dead dogs found, dogfighting operations and abuse and cruelty. The need for a real and functioning tipline is and has always been desperately needed and we have been fighting for viable tips to be seen, vetted and action taken for over 10 years.
Our experience has been no one cares. When we send the tips to the DA they are sent to Animal Control and nothing is done just. Without them investigating the tips the DA can’t arrest or prosecute. Viable tips have come in about repeat dogfighters running large and multi state operations and even when we brought in outside help and resources — it always stopped with Los Angeles municipalities and leaders not giving caring and doing nothing. This is the behavior we have been dealing with for 16 years. If you see anyone stating “things are better now” or “we are heading in the right direction” they are lying and painfully ignorant. Things are not better – they are worse. Things are horrifying for the animals in Los Angeles and the garbage humans running the things back then didn’t care and the garbage humans running things right now don’t care. Their consistancy to not care about or protect the animals is astounding as is the stupidity of so many in animal welfare who “partner” with those condoning the horrors to happen.
We hope the FBI will do something. We will believe it when we see it.
