Humans have deemed this “type” of dog “inherently dangerous” yet daily, they endure heinous acts of violence and discrimination by humans but still have nothing but love to give. They don’t forget what was done to them, they choose to not dwell on it. They can come back from deplorable conditions having endured, in some case, years of neglect and abuse but somehow learn to trust again. They live in the moment. They love with everything they are. They don’t judge or discriminate and they are, in fact, born inherently good. While you’re reading this, there are thousands of Pitbull type dogs being abused, neglected and killed by humans. If our government, law enforcement and media focussed and reported those facts then provided the funds and manpower to combat it, we would all be living in safer and more humane communities. 30 years ago everyone smoked cigarettes. Talk show hosts, celebs endorsed cigarettes, Presidents smoked, doctors were even in smoking ads, smoking was everywhere is it was considered COOL. While many still smoke, millions have stopped because the social conscience towards smoking has changed. People became educated and began listening and eventually mainstream media stood behind the truth and no smoking laws were implemented etc. The exact same thing can and will happen with Pitbull type dogs. Education, facts and dedication to telling the truth is key. It is up to us to undo the decades of untruths and hate directed at them and if we remain diligent and dedicated to the cause (leaving the human agenda/drama/ego) out of things, the truth will prevail because we are the majority.
