We are THRILLED to report that the first annual Stand Up For Pits CHICAGO did in fact SELL OUT!!!
Players For Pits walked with $3793.00 and an estimated $1200.00 worth of shelter supplies were donated! Kim from PFP will be bringing the blankets that were donated to Chicago Animal Care & Control on Thanksgiving and Christmas day along with the treats that were donated. PSP came with 37 silent auction items and lots of merchandise sold it all!
We want to thank the BRILLIANT Susan Messing and Rachael Mason for hosting the show and to the amazing comedians who also donated their time and talents. Thank you to the dedicated and giant hearted Sandi Bruegger for photographing the event and to Laugh Factory for allowing the adoptable hippos to be on site.
People from all over the country attended! We got the pleasure of standing up for our inherently good dogs with folks from San Francisco, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin and the incredible people of Chi-town and got to meet some folks, like Debra Nanni representing Chicago Humane and the amazing women from Hearts Of Hope Dog Rescue who drove from Grand Rapids Michigan just to name a couple.
The Stand Up For Pits Foundation thanks everyone who attended the show and made cash donations at the end of the night in memory of our Angel and her legendary kissing booth. Funds raised from these events enables us to provide grants and help to groups, individuals, support programs and dogs nationwide. One example of that is sweet Hazel. It was an honor getting to meet a hippo we’ve helped and seeing her so loved and cared for. Stand Up For Pits will be back next year! In the meantime, please continue doing all you can when you can, however you can to end abuse, discrimination and save lives.
NEXT STAND UP FOR PITS IS AT THE HOLLYWOOD IMPROV NOV 5TH!!! BOTH SHOWS ARE COMPLETELY SOLD OUT BUT PLEASE COME DONATE SHELTER SUPPLIES, WATCH RED CARPET ARRIVALS, CHECK OUT THE SILENT AUCTION AND NONPROFIT MERCHANDISE! THERE WILL ALSO BE PERFECT VELVET HIPPOS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH PawWorks! EACH DOG WILL HAVE HIS/HER OWN HANDLER. THIS IS A HUMAN ONLY EVENT. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR HIPPOS AT HOME AS THE ONLY DOGS ALLOWED AT SUFP EVENTS ARE THE DOGS WITH THE RESCUES AND MEET AND GREETS WITH OTHER DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
ALSO…you must be 18 or over to see the show and we DO NOT allow FILMING or LIVE STREAMING at the event.
