This is South Carolina today but this is happening all over the US and nothing is being done to stop it. 30-40 dogs are being dumped DAILY at the Lancaster Animal Care Center and many are puppies by the box load. Dogs are being dumped and abandoned on Los Angeles city streets, bred and sold on Skid Row, dumped in Lancaster, Palmdale and Apple Valley and this is one of the nations wealthiest and largest states. LA Animal Care & Control have mobile units sitting unused. We are in a STATE OF EMERGENCY and this is why we are asking all of you to support spay and neuter however and whenever you can. The needless loss of life is staggering and worsening every day. URGENT PLEA FOR RESCUE ASSISTANCE
Chesterfield County Animal Shelter — South Carolina
Yesterday 22 dogs were brought in from a single property. We are overwhelmed and urgently working through intake, but the most critical need right now is for two litters of puppies.
Litter 1: 5 puppies, approximately 4 weeks old.
They are too young to be without a nursing mother and desperately need supplemental care to survive. No females from the property are producing milk — we cannot provide the care they need here.
Litter 2: 7 puppies, approximately 7 weeks old.
They are able to eat soft food but still need support, stability, and a safe place to land.
These babies are in danger. They can be split between multiple rescues — every offer of help matters. Time is of the essence.
